Concerning Egypt, I don't see how it's any weirder to think whites lived in Egypt back then than they live in Australia/the US today. And as if the rulers were working in the sun and not enjoying their shady gardens.
And didn't they rub their skin with henna or something as a form of sunscreen?
And even then, just 'cause Egyptians were (and are) Caucasian and some were related to Europeans, doesn't mean they were like Pasty Brits. Plenty of olive skinned Caucasians living in hot and dry areas since ages past.
