Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?” - Amos 5:18-20
“So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” - Matthew 13:49-50
The end is not going to be light; it is going to be darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The world will be judged, and those who are not found with Christ will be cast into a furnace of fire after being found guilty of their individual sin. When Jesus DOES appear in the clouds, and the whole world sees him, the great Judgement will have begun. The wrath of God will abide on Men.
“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” - Revelation 6:14-17
In that great day, the world will mourn and weep. Not one Man will feel strong or confident.
