i know that feeling too man, happened to me with a close friend, probably one of the best persons i've met, but that was a double edged sword.
feeling inadequate and outclassed in every single way feels horrible, and makes me think that i'm a horrible person too, for only being able to hang out with others if i'm 'smarter than them', or like somewhat equal.

Yeah, and it's also hard to actually acknowledge your own victories because the other person always does better. Well, for me anyway. Even if I do better than her in something, I don't really feel too awesome about it. Like a grade on a test for example; we took the same test and I studied a decent amount and she barely studied at all, and I only got one more question right than her. I have no room to be batching but just thinking about it makes me feel hopeless. She's a real awesome girl and I have no reason to have her to myself other than she was attracted to me somehow, but thinking about these sorts of things really makes me feel like I'll always be outshined. When you're outshined, then you don't exist.

if both are a yes, then why not talk to her about this exact thing?
everyone has their strenghts and weaknesses, and nobody just goes around bragging about how shot they are at something, so what you end up seeing is what everyone else is good at, vs what you are good and bad at.
tl dr; i don't see any reason to hide how you feel, you sound like a legit nice person and she likes you for that
