Not at all, it's probably the most stable distro
There is a lot of testing between each release and you still get the latest software with flatpak

For a first Linux installation, use Mint.
If you ever want to change distributions for more for something with fewer proprietary stuff, you can always do that, but Mint is probably your best bet for working out-of-the-box.

Don't use mint
It's a big hack and there is 0 testing
To upgrade to a major release you have to use the CLI
Just go with Fedora or Ubuntu

Mint is completely fine
and you get instructions to upgrade with CLI on the website, so even an idiot can do it.
Also Fedora is literally a redhat testing distro and its new installer is shit

I have been using it for years. Trust me, it's the most polished distro of the bunch. You can do everything from the GUI and I haven't had a single issue since there is a lot of testing between each release
