Although you'd be better off printing them out of glass reinforced nylon or something, which you won't be doing on an Ender 3.

OP is right, you should not only have at least 3,000 - 5,000 rounds for your primary rifle and level IV plates for your carrier but nods and thermals. I literally live under the poverty line ( $30-50k or less per year ) and I was even able to save up and get a good monocular. Gen 3 WP with a L3 Harris top tier tube. And I also got $3,000 for a FLIR Breach too. For under $10,000 you can have both night vision and thermal capabilities. Get on it, start saving if your not already. Also go to your local junkyard and buy a van or truck with cash anonymously. Outfit it with IR headlights.

Nobody mounts them behind optics, it's one of the sure fire ways to gradually damage and destroy your tube. Most use passive aiming with an IR device. Your going to need an IR laser and illumination unit to go with your night vision as well. So tack on another grand or so. I went with a Perst unit. And with the right red dot or even LPVO in some cases you can use the optics reticle/dot still even with a nod over your eye.

Hop is good for some nvg info also for IR devices as well. Just don't cheap out and get some elbit or photonous brand tube trying to save some money. Also despite how cheap you are never get anything Gen II. And WP is the way to go if you want better visibility and clarity. Don't get green.
