I agree but on the otherhand I can sort of understand this approach as well. In the case of a NEET such as myself it's probably one of the most effective actions to take so one doesn't become one of those "34 year old virgins living in his parents' basement" that are shown on television for everyone to laugh at. I'll probably be able to haggle down the rent I have to pay if I actually make and display a serious effort to be making progress in life. - I'm hoping my parents will settle for at least just buying my own food + chipping in for some utilities, once I explain to them my other expenses and saving will leave me with almost no disposable income.
