I began looking seriously into the notion of a flat earth about 9 months ago, and what I saw initially frightened me. More recently, I have come to harbor serious doubts that the planet earth is an oblate spheroid in motion.
I have always been interested in politics and global affairs, but it appears that the notion that we live on a stationary, flat plane supersedes virtually any other political issue. My understanding is that mods on this subsection usually punt threads to /bant/ or /x/, but I think that this thread is rightfully placed on /pol/.
To any others who are willing to consider or are convinced that we live on a stationary plane, how did you come to this? I think that my being in a very rough state in my life (which I still am) has opened my mind to consider theories that I would have otherwise mocked and ridiculed when I was in a higher status position in society. I currently have very little going for me in life, and perhaps some consolation for my current suffering is that I may have been able to peel back "truth's protected layers."
I would like the purpose of this thread to not debate flat earth, but to instead discuss with others as to how and when you came to this belief, and how (if at all) you went around telling your belief to friends, family, and others in real life.
