youtube has an automatic FUNDRAISER feature that can be seen on any video on youtube where it shows "FUNDRAISER" in green where the money goes directly to escrow or directly to the organization the video is advocating for. very obvious, very unambiguous.
this guy got his channel demonetized a while ago for google discressions which meant all adsense money was restricted from his personal accounts and he was SUPPPPPPER fucking pissed off about this.
he fought it for a long time and guilted his subscribers into fighting for him to be remonetized and threatened to stop doing videos because there was no more money to be made and production is so expensive, etc, etc,.
he did this under the impression that he was using all of the youtube ad money to help people but it is completely hidden through how he decides to navigate the money without oversight. it was like the lowest of the lowest tier youtuber guilt campaign
he has been remonetized again in the last few months to his personal accounts which is why his videos are starting to get a lot of views again; because they are ad safe I.E. worth showing to more people. he had a huge slump for a while because age restricted content doesn't get shown to as many people.
he's definitely more into the money.
