Now they're not only an impediment to servince consolidation and line-of-business metastasis, they're actually moving backwards! Now they're a clear enemy, and it all went down while they were trying to balance the books for their small businesses. The lumpen are howling for blood and the tech mercenaries are safe in their suburb-bounded fortresses. It'll take some mental gymnastics to really get off on and state-sponsored violence taking shape, but I'm sure they'll find a way.
