well here's a fun trick for you, those bots are almost always set up to read through its script in response to your prompts, so if you pick up and don't say anything they never start. makes it real awkward if it is just some unsaved number calling you for legitimate business, but it's still funny
here there's a national "do not call" list. i'm not sure of all the details, but i think the sit is that businesses can get fined if you're on the list, receive a call, and report them. it's not foolproof, but supposedly it reduces spam calls drastically
