I could draw some parallels with the history of the two countries
But it is difficult. Not everything aligns perfectly.
But from how I would predict it, everything would play out over centuries.
The result of Frederick II.'s deposition was the disintegration of the Empire for almost 30 years. It was basically anarchy. The knights became robbers, and the rule of the fist was the only law there was. You could not travel between cities. The trade that made the country rich was not occuring. It was a shitty life in that time.
The result of that anarchy was that the carriers of public orders became local lords, bishops, or mayors instead of the central institutions of the Empire. It would shape the history of the Empire for the next 600 years. The rise of the Habsburgs; the reformation and the thirty year war that occured centuries later were also a result of it. And it took until after the french occuption, the liberation war, and the unification wars for the nation to be under a centralised rule again.
Something similar could occur in America. All it took for Germany is to not have a king with power for 30 years.
