very scratchy actually
>>15664009idk, i really think most people are just totally dismissive of the dialogue as being bad anime writing because of the artsyle when it's really obviously a western style of self aware characters being intentionally goofy. when the writing tries to be genuine or heartfelt it does a perfectly good job of it
for example there's one scene where a girl tells the protagonist he's so lucky he doesn't have giant boobs because they get so sweaty during combat and he gets all flustered trying to say his balls sweat too. everyone keeps shitting on it for being some weird anime fanservice line or something, but if you pay literally any attention at all to a single line leading up to the interaction it's really obvious that it's just bants and the girl is ONLY saying it specifically because she knows it's going to make the guy flustered
if these sorts of gags were being artificially constructed and played straight because its what they think the audience will find funny then it would be bad anime writing, but they're delivered as gags that the characters are doing because THEY find them funny and even if you don't then its still character building which is about as far from eastern writing as you can get
it's like everyone thinks the writing is failing so hard at trying to be persona 5 when it's obviously trying to be a raunchier hades
