You could simply refuse even if that were the case, what are they gonna do, if they can't kick you out? Doubt they'd resort to the extreme of not giving you food or something, either. Wouldn't go very far, even if they tried. They would most likely give up on it after you just say no.
And I don't think they'd do that anyway, cooking an egg is pretty much on the same level as warming up pizza, you wouldn't be showing what they'd consider actual noticeable competency, I don't think. Even if they really are looking for excuses to dump things on you all of a sudden, I'm very sure you could get away with cooking some eggs.
I think you're just being paranoid with it, though. You really should go for it, for your own good. Shouldn't let them dictate everything you can do or not do. There's nothing wrong with just letting yourself eat, it doesn't matter what they'd try to do.
