>>386675382>Sounds like you have your shit in orderMarginally, I'm just lacking the kind of social contact I had even just five years ago.
>How's work lifeIt's pretty solid. I run the tech writing department for a software development firm. English Lit degree, believe it or not. So I'm doing reasonably well financially. And the job is easy as hell.
>What's the secret to reading that much? Not really a secret, I just read a lot.
I read first thing in the morning with my first cup coffee. I drink coffee slowly, so it's about a half hour.
I read on the crapper, too. And yes, I read in the shower, which is probably a habit nobody else will pick up, because it sounds so fucking weird on its face. But it works, and yes, my books stay dry.
After work, I might read a bit more while I cook dinner, but that's not often.
Finally, I've always, always, always brought a book when I go to bed. I lay down and read for probably an hour or so before shutting off the light/closing the tablet.
That last one is the easiest change for anyone to make if they want to start reading more. Reading in bed before sleep is comfy as hell, and will help keep you calm.
Acquaintance of mine told me that apparently everyone else just kinda browses the web on their phone for an hour before bed, which... that's just fucking abhorrent to me. Read a book instead, you'll be happier.
