its okay, its very stressful when its busy and you are on your feet for 5+ hours in a cramped and sweaty kitchen. almost everybody drinks or smokes pretty regularly.
my favorite thing about it is that its a job truly based on merit. you can't bullshit your way up the ladder, you have to be good and a diligent worker. because people change restaurants/get fired so much, you can move up pretty quickly if you do a good job
i wonder how much value my resume would be if i went off to another country and wanted to work in kitchens there.
