Is learning other languages besides English worth it?

Besides English and Spanish, I'd like to learn French (which I'm already doing) and Japanese (will start next year).

I also like to make music and draw in my spare time. Since uni is getting harder, I feel like I have to pick either languages or my hobbies.

What should I pick?

Thank you, Reuben, very cool. I think you should stick to your hobbies as to avoid overbearing yourself on top of your academic endeavors. Remember to balance work and leisure time. It is great you know English as the saying goes, "Quien sabe dos lenguas vale por dos". I suppose learning a third language like French is great, but will you utilize the language in your country or work? I would have suggested learning Japanese over French as Peru has the second largest Japanese population and influence.

Both languages are very important for arts and music, which I like. I'm actually watching a French guy teaching drawing tutorials in French.

Besides manga and anime that's also the reason I also want to learn Japanese.

But so far I'm going well with music and drawing and it makes me happy, but leaning languages makes me happy as well.

Frankly, there is no reason to study Japanese. This is from my experience wasting 2 years + thousands on tuition.

Oh sorry, I thought the thread was over. Portuguese will grant access to Brazilian media; Portuguese literature and more.
I think it should be a must for native Spanish speakers, since it grants you a different pov of your own language. And by different pov I mean providing you with new ways to understand Spanish since we basically speak the same language with a few notable differences here and there. That's about it.
