I mean yea, if you just throw yourself into a body of water with the intent to die, of course you'll most likely fail.
That's why you have to take some safety measures. For example get one of those hiking backpacks that have straps and fill it with heavy stuff like rocks or rubble to make sure you won't float. Also buying zip ties and tying them around your hands so even if you struggle, you can't get your backpack off is a no brainer.
