I've been told I have more of a Canadian accent than I do U.S. I am unsure about this statement as I have never associated with a Canadian in person to assimilate such an accent. Perhaps, it's due to exposure to a lot of Canadian programing on T.V or due to my secondary language. One thing for sure is I do notice some pronunciation differences between my fellow Americans and I.

I always find the term "Canadian accent" weird because we have four or five regional accents that sound nothing alike.

You are right to be perplexed, I should have used the term "Regional Accent" instead. I was vague as I do not know what Canadian regional accent my peers were referencing. Likewise, I can say the same when people use the term "American Accent" as we too have unique regional accents.
