>>15806743I've been working on a conlang with extremely simple grammar to serve as a little bit of practice as I dip my toes into the whole thing. I'm only fluent in Spanish and English, and know a little bit of Latin, so for the most part I'm limited to features of those languages. I would like to familiarize myself with a couple more languages though
I've been thinking of adding a case system, though a simple and uniform one (maybe 4 or 5 cases total, and only one declension).
Something I learned a while ago that I found fascinating is that grammatical gender has nothing to do with biological sex. Bantu languages in Africa usually have over a dozen genders, none of which is masculine or feminine. I wouldn't want to make it too bloated, but maybe a gender system like human masculine-human feminine-animated-inanimate.
And about what to write, so far I've been writing mostly anecdotes I feel are important, reflections or times when I learned something in particular, but I'm open to pretty much anything. Maybe talking about day to day life in the current day, something like that. I'll probably finesse it with time.
