>>15822458>it has to be how humid a place is for a civilization to thrive isn't it?>If it's hot and humid all day, you're thinking about getting water and rest instead of mathematics, engineering, philosophy and civilizationTo some degree, but generally speaking i'd say it's mostly a case of the fact that survival in lush environment with lots of rainfall is simply too easy, it doesn't require you to plan ahead for a harsh winter, it doesn't require you to master your environment, farming is easy, raising animals is easy, you've little need of strong, sturdy structures that are well built and insulated, your clothing doesn't have to be warm or long lasting, your tools can be rudimentary so what happens in those warmer regions is your population booms without any underlying organization or real understanding.
Look at somewhere like Finland, it's clean, it's organised, it's well maintained, but the population is only 5 million people, but those people are the product of generations upon generations of people who had to plan, had to think ahead and had to innovate just to survive.
