last thing I remember before him buying the shart was the monkey hate shitshow. iirc he had allowed monkey torture videos on his video site because he thought "bmt" was an authentic sharty meme. of course, he didn't explicitly say that. he just said it was about freedom of expression or something. then, upon learning that the bmt gimmick was just forced by one or two anons, he IMMEDIATELY banned it from his site. it was painfully obvious that the entire affair was attempt at buying popularity among soiteens.
I very much preferred soot's approach, where he moderated the site from a distance, and didn't feel a need to police and comment on what sharty culture should be (the only exception being his denunciation of discord raiders)
