yeah I looked up there too, its a shitty old attic so I think it got in through the roof or something and then got in through the attic door that I left open. I was playing vidya when it flew from behind my couch, flapped around a bit and flew off but I didn’t see where it went.

It could be an apartment that is just a sectioned-off part of someone's house (that is what I live in). You get access to some parts of a regular house in those cases.
