British history and victim mentality

I was born and raised in the USA and learning about British history was very strange. We heard all about the British empire and British imperialism and colonialism but we never did hear growing up or even in school about just how much the brits were conquered and invaded themselves before they could have the strength to spread their empire across the world.

They were conquered by the Romans, then the Anglo-Saxons and then the Normans. And the absolutely strangest thing is that modern day Brits treat this as a good thing. They see it as them becoming more civilized. Make no mistake this doesn’t mean British people are the type to be meek in the face of a force stronger than them but it does appear that in British history when the Brits are thoroughly impressed enough they will join with their conquerors as worthy to be one nation with instead of resenting them for “historic oppression.”

This leads into the modern day SJW mentality that conquering (in the righteous way) is oppressive to the people being conquered. This notion spits in the face of reality as the British people were conquered and benefited massively because of it, making them able to create the largest empire in history. Their culture, their heritage, their history all would not be the great and potent nation it is today without the help of being conquered by the Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Normans as these conquerings advanced the British way of life allowing for greater success.

Tldr: Brits are powerful because they weren’t sissies who cried about being oppressed and instead allowed themselves to become stronger by being conquered.
