Being honest about it with my family and anti-depressant from my psychiatrist helped me greatly. Starting to take anti-depressants can be tough on you, because your chemistry might just not match with the one you decided to try first, but over couple of weeks you might be able to find one that's good for you. Also, it is a pretty genetic thing so if you have someone with depression in your family and they've already found out what's good for them, chances are it is also good for you.
