some sleazy governments make fake charges to essentially take hostages but in like 90% of cases its actual criminals.
we had the same shit with the emirates they were goning to execute some bitch with israeli citizenship that trafficked drugs there. most people here supported it 100% because she was a foreigner that expressed anti israeli views and a criminal but our government got her sentence reduced to prison time or something.
