They are trying to kill people with a unique viewpoint and contience in an attempt to bring about a fully automated reality i.e. if you can view things and have thoughts about them, you are not one of them.
It's like that movie about transendence just based on shitty philosopy tropes where being unique and creative is slowing down the occurance of the singularity because while you are aware, the full automation of a process with "humans" without concience cannot play out to the point where a technological AI can manipulate space and time.
You being a uniquly concious entity is a threat to their lack of agency.
Good thing is you only need to kill a minimum of 3 for their plans to be foiled.
