if you went as far as "accepting" that the workers of the chocolate factory are dwarves that get paid in cocoa beans you might as well accept that those characters are going to actually die, it's a form of suspension of disbelief
a clockworth orange is funny in the first half for the first reason, it's set in a psychedelic world, the characters speak like lunatics and the music is catchy, so you dont care if there is actual violence going on
