I'd been smoking heavily for ten years without ever skipping a day. I had chills, I was hot, I was cold, I was sweating, I was so incredibly nauseous that I didn't eat, not even one bite, for four days. It took eight days for the symptoms to wear off completely, but on the morning of the ninth day I felt amazing. I could smell, taste, and feel things normally again. It was like being reborn. Now, five years later (almost exactly) I just grow it for my buddies, but I never smoke it anymore.
Nicotine, on the other hand, is weird for me. I love it, I'll admit that. I love pipe tobacco, I love Schnupf from Germany, and I love Swedish snus (I thank your country for that), and I occasionally smoke cigars, especially in the summer.
Having said that, I can stop with the tobacco products on command. Some days I just don't feel like smoking or taking snuff or snus, and I just don't; sometimes I simply forget. Do I feel weird from not taking it? Yes, but only if I've been smoking a lot of pipe tobacco or taking some strong snus like Siberia or Oden's Extreme within the previous day or two.
TLDR:
Weed is definitely easier to quit than nicotine for MOST people, but I'm not most people. Nicotine is really addictive, and I don't endorse taking it in any form, but weed can be just as harmful and just as habit-forming for some people.
