>>16120093at this point my anxiety disorder (which is rough even at the best of times) really started to kick in, so i decided to spend some time customizing my newest craft marvel figurines that had just arrived in the mail (btw: no, these are not "action figures," though a lot of people don't seem to fucking grok the difference).
but then, to my horror, i discovered that the box that was supposed to have these figurines in it instead had some fucking kind of power tool in it! they sent me the wrong fucking item by mistake!
not only was i miffed that they sent me the fucking wrong thing, i cut my finger on this fucking stupid saw or whatever it fucking was, and now i needed to go to the fucking E.R.
of course, this gave me a great chance to meet some first responders, which i always love, but it still took some valuable time out of my day. i know, i know: "first world problems," but i was fucking frustrated.
at the E.R. the nurse was making conversation and asked me "what do you do?" I explained that I work in a hybrid role as both a customer impressions engineer and a senior equity officer and the nurse asked "what does that mean!?" in a really fucking snotty way. like, jeez, tell me you need more empathy training without telling me you need more empathy training.
that really fucking sent my imposter syndrome in to overdrive. so when i got home i went on to reddit to decompress a bit.
but then i ran into some people saying things like "i'm just not going to get the vaccine is all" and "i don't trust the CIA" and other tin-foil hat fucking stuff.
"holy non-sequitur, batman!" i replied, "we're talking about science here, not your paranoid conspiracy theories!"
i got a lot of upvotes and even some reddit gold! so in the end, my week turned out fucking alright! i hope yours does too!
