Of course. I just descaled, gutted, and cut it into pieces, and now it's sitting in a bowl with some herbs and spices, and i'm going to toss it into a pan when it's dinner time

Do you catch them on ice at all?
I mostly fish during the winter but all I'm able to catch is pic related and other useless fish.
Is it possible to catch these niggas during the winter without spinning?

Nah i don't do ice fishing. Partially because i'm never where i am right now in winter, but also even if i was i probably wouldn't, sitting in one place in the cold doesn't sound too fun. But yes, people do fish for pikes in winter, mostly with жepлицы i think.

No fish is useless (exept maybe кpacнoпёpкa, they taste like shit, but even they are decent when salted and dried)

That's why you run around between a few holes, you just have to dress warm enough, bring a thermos and a lot to eat and it's comfy.
Plus all the datchnik crowds are gone.
Usually I am too busy in the middle of the year but the only time I ever catch pikes is with spinning and a synthetic bait.

Not even my cat wants anything to do with pic related.
Carps are actually good but way too common here.

Yorsh is a great snack - you just have to cut off the head and pull out the guts (no need for a second cut, they usually get pulled out with the head, and DON'T cut off the fins) and fry it in a pan with a bit of oil and salt. The scales burn away very quickly, and when it's cooked the fins are easy to just pull out together with the bones supporting them, and everything exept the spine is edible. Not really proper food, but as i said, great snack, goes like semechki.
