It's just weird, how could these values get root in post-fucking-ussr, surpassing Germans, Czechs, Poles (with lgbt-free zones)?
Answer is, they couldn't and they didn't.
The west is Ukraines only ally, and it makes people try to go deep down into culture of rich white western liberals, but if you aren't rich western liberal, there's natural resentment.
This is why all the talk about becoming not western democracy, but 2nd Israel politically wise.
