4chan isn't some anonymous hacker activist privacy oriented underground activism underground politics forum. The choice of anonymity here is provided as a means of ease of use and not with the same intention technologies like tor or i2p and the services operating there do.
You've mistaken a feature for fun for a feature for making political statements.
The name and tripcode fields are to be used, they're provided with the same intention of fun rather than as a means to destroy some ideal of anonymity you have. You're literally given a flag and an ID for each thread here, adding a name doesn't do shit after that.
If 4chan was about anonymity rather than fun, we'd
- allow tor posting
- allow VPNs
- wouldn't have captcha
- wouldn't have name fields
- wouldn't have flag or ID boards
- wouldn't keep cookies
- wouldn't use cloudflare
- wouldn't have the staff's names be known publicly
- probably wouldn't operate on clearnet at all
- not have an option for 4chan passes
- not have a functional way to ban or warn users
- not have public bans or warns or a bans page
And so on and on.
This site's not about anonymity, it's here just for convenience.
