Why did this make everyone shit their pants again? The numbers don't lie. Almost everyone on Earth already owns nothing. The concept of there being a middle class that owns things is an extremely new concept that's barely spread outside of developed nations yet
Even in the USA, the top ten percent of people own 70% of all wealth. And it really isn't hard to make it into that top 10%. Most people just don't seem to give a shit about owning anything and would rather work dead end jobs or work well paying jobs and piss their money away. Either way, you already made your choice.
