its looks better in hindsight the same way the prequels do compared to the garbage media created today but it is still a deeply flawed series the weakest of 90s Trek. Ultimately the show came to rest on the performance of Jeri Ryan and Robert Picardo. You shouldn't have to add a character mid run and elevate a b-team player just to keep your existing audience engaged.

I will say that Katherine Mulgrew gives a solid performance throughout. I find it interesting that while /pol/ is home to some of the most racist and fembot hating trolls this side of the internet it will defend Janeway and Benjamin Sisko as iconic additions to this beloved franchise. Just shows how lazy the jew has gotten in its efforts to shoehorn diversity into every corner it can. I miss the 90s bros, when jews were much more subtle.

The first episode, "33", is still S-tier.

Originally Apollo was supposed to see people moving around inside the Olympic Carrier, and there was no radiological alarm saying it had nukes.
It was originally ambiguous as to whether or not destroying the ship was the right thing to do.

One thing I disliked about DS9 is they never really tackled hard subjects. They would introduce them but they always skirted around seriously exploring their merits and follies. Dukat on numerous occasion would introduce a moral ethical delimma and Sisco would counter with, "shieeet you evil". Or the plot would just become contrite and handwave anything that could give Dukats posistion any legitimacy.

Dukat wasn't beyond redemption until after he betrayed the Alpha quadrant and joined the Dominion. He was quite likable and relatable during the arc where he stole the Klingon ship started his own resistance. It was probably around that time the writers decided Dukat would be the prophet of the Pah-wraiths with Damar sliding into the lead role of the Cardassian redemption arc.

I thought they covered terrorism pretty well from both perspectives with the whole Bajor/Cardassia thing. Although they did unfortunately go full WE WUZ SPACE EXPLORERS with that solar sail ship episode. I still liked that episode though, even if the point is to say that ancient Bajorans left their system before Cardassians did.
