as for the coat i think it would be stiff as fuck and moving at all would be an operation in of itself, like seriously for the amount of kevlar needed to stop a bullet it would essentially make the coat feel more like trying to move with fuckin knights armor on
also i came up with an idea thats based off of the chainmail neck coif but instead of chainmail its kevlar so a kevlar neck coif
i googled it and i never found anyone talking about anything like that
it might be a stupid idea though since i could just make it a pain in the ass to turn your head and i think a bullet hitting your neck would just kill you anyway regardless if it penetrated or not
like how that russian body armor that can supposedly stop a .50 cal wouldnt even matter since your insides would be fucking gelatinized

and yea nowadays the plate carriers are so fucking big its kind of a waste of space these dudes are hauling around 20-30kg of gear on their person not even counting the backpack it seems unnecessary
we should return to vietnam era gear where its just a guy in a shirt and pants and some pouches for magazines and grenades cause thats really all you need anyway
