>>16418582Douay-Rheims is a translation from Latin into English, why would that be an improvement, unless you believe the original bible is the translation from Greek into Latin by St Jerome. Why any lay interpretation holds any merit is absurd. The reality is people read the KJV and conclude that they should engage in believers baptisms, when the editors of the KJV literally executed the founder of the Baptist movement for engaging in such practices, the KJV was literally edited and shaped so as to lead people to NOT be Baptists, but somehow Baptists are it's leading proponents. That story alone shows the futility in "reading" the bible, because no one but a trained scholar can "read" the bible, and even such an action is pointless because the bible was effectively created in 382 by St. Jerome to be used by the Latin Church. The book has no meaning at all outside of that purpose and should not be read, except by people who are able to spend all of their time on the subject. Imagine someone in 4000AD trying to understand American politics with 30 episodes of South Park, a dozen episodes of Tucker Carlson, and a copy of Eat pray love. You can't. The bible makes zero sense without it's extensive context, and it is worthless to "read."
