Only fools think Christianity is about not being "judgmental"

No.16418755 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I squirm every time I hear a lefty invoke the words "judge not lest ye be judged" from the bible. It is always being used to make an excuse for some kind of immoral behaviour, usually related to fornication and sexual perversion.

If you analyse the text carefully, the passage from the bible is actually teaching us to be merciful, not "judgmental" in the colloquial sense of modern English. These fake Christians will take idioms from the King James bible that are in 17th century English and lazily project modern definitions onto the words.

We need to be merciful as Christians because God will judge us by the same scales we used to judge others. The bible is not teaching us to tolerate or support other people's sinful behaviour. In fact, often the most merciful thing you can do is to admonish a person who is committing serious sins. But according to the lefty biblical scholar, this would be an agregious act of judgementalness.
