>>16522836Before The Internets, or at least social media, before everything was junk Made In China, I used to do all my Christmas shopping during the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) in August/September, they used to have neat stuff from all over the world instead of made in china junk you pay an admission to get in and buy. I've got these ladybug shaped pocket watces in sliver or white that were Made In Japan, I think it was $15 bucks around the Y2K? Came complete with a chain, could be wore as a pendant.
Now, to everyone, I ONLY give stuff that will be used up and easily regifted if they don't want it: cut flowers, jams, packaged shortbread cookies, beef jerky. It's better than clothes that don't fit or figurines that collect dust before it takes up space in the landfill.
I might get some of my relatives a holiday themed Swedish Sponge Cloth by danica, it can be stuck on wall with poster tack for decoration during the holiday, then used as a dish cloth tills it falls apart, then throw away guilt free as it's composable, made of cotton and viscose so you can burn it too, it's under 10 loonies.
