All members who are otherwise unable to easily switch between organisms, will inevitably handicap themselves to benefit the organism they are part of.
This is as true for the little bacteria in your body as it is for ants or even people in a tribe to some extent.
People have made various group selection strategy theories that most of them are uninteresting and bullshit.
The only one that matters is the parasitism theory I just explained.
If people can switch between organism(tribes) they will no longer hold these same handicaps and will not adhere to them.
The trust balance is thus skewed and the parasite will take and not give, he will suck out all trust and will not be trustable in return.
He will lie, steal, rape and murder and pretend to be innocent, in fact he will pretend to be the victim.
Slowly society changes as people become aware of these parasites, and they themselves become untrusting and untrustworthy, they become parasites themselves.
