thank god people are finally making fun of these things. they're anti intellectual. they give you the opinions so you don't have to think for yourself. not only that, but they are often bloated, like the goyslop of video formats, with verbose explanations of simple concepts in order to hit that <10 minute mark for $$$. the personalities of these content creators will very often be forcefully witty/quirky in an attempt to be relatable, but it often just makes me want to strangle them with my bare hands in an attempt to make them shut up for good. i often have to stop my friend when he talks because he'll just subconsciously spout something he heard in a video essay, and own it as a proud conclusion he came to on himself.
all i ever use youtube for is news clips, old archival type videos, old nostalgic content that was actually good, niche hobbies, food recipes, tutorials, or music, and it isn't even good at this either because it will always attempt to recommend you more goyslop consumer content to gorge on mindlessly. who cares? i'm here to, at least, try to numb my mind anyways from the horrific reality that is my life, starved of love.
