If kids are forced to pick up an alien(Kiev was a Russian speaking city whole its hisotry, and all Ukrainian-Russian great minds, like Gogol or Verrnadsky, were Russian speaking, btw Vernadsky - a prominent Kiev professor back then - was butthurt about commies pushing ukrainization in 1930s) lagnuage, if its eradicated from schools and media, that means you basically will have no work, no career if speak "wrong" languge - that's it.
And the fact is that nationalistic Ukraine push their western narrative onto whole country, incl russian speaking east, north and south.
reality is: the "Ukraine" is an artificial country created by commies in 1917-1991
They even pray differently in east and west of "Ukraine", they have different WW2 heroes, they are very very un-unitary and in later years(even before 2014) they started to base their idenity on agressive ukraine nationalism which itself have its core in supressing russians/russian speakers. Some would say whole ukrainian nationalism is not even existing without Russia, because its main idea is just an antogonism to Russia, without having any sole independent basis.
