If you like the stories, I won't take that away from you, but a wise person would acknowledge that whether or not they are technically true is immaterial to begin with.
It's very easy to induce Hindu spirituality simply by making everyday observations, realizing that everything is interdependent, inter-reliant and ultimately the same entity, brahman. And as an added bonus, if you care about "truth" so much, Hinduism aligns with every scientific breakthrough including quantum mechanics -- the nature of reality being manifest from consciousness, etc.
