Carelessness when reading the news, where opinion pieces make strong statements without actually directly saying what they imply, that the US has secretly orchestrated this-that-or-the-other drama in the news. They skim headlines just like I do but the end impression is fantastically different to the point where we have little common ground.
It happens to people anywhere, best is to engage people with rational arguments. Yes, mainlanders by and large support the CCP, at least toward outsiders. It's not because they're retarded or stupid bitches or mentally ill men. It takes 10x the effort to combat misinformation but if a chinese person believes something you know to be wrong, first pull out a copy of the little red book and point to where Mao said the party accepts criticism. It's there. Then criticize specifically, point by point.
