It's not a good job in Europe. Brutal cut-throat competition, the only way to survive in the business is to break every traffic law under the sun.
In my faceless salaryman office job I earn three times as much as a truck driver just from the basic wage. I also get 32 paid leave days (plus unlimited sick leave), 13th and 14th wage for summer holidays and Christmas, stock options (a couple free shares, also generous stock purchase options for 75% of the market price, stuff like that), company profit share bonus of 2-5 monthly wages per year, etc. I'm not even middle management. Just a faceless desk clerk in a department with 80% young women. Faggot job, I know. When I make mistakes, my boss covers them up for me. When I break the rules, everyone finds reasons why the rules don't really apply to me that much. All it takes is a disarming smile and this shy "hand behind my neck" gesture. They probably believe that my wife is a mean old dragon. I think I can endure it.
