i dont think elden ring is a very good game
i am about halfway through it and i think i have reached the point where my interest in playing it has dropped too low and i probably will not finish it
i have not found anything worth fighting for a while and it feels like im wandering around hoping from will throw me a bone and hit me with some good content
might just play ds2 again i miss the fume knight

I haven't played Elden Ring but I got that sense from the videos and streams I've seen. I like open world RPGs but I need a good story or something interesting to drive me to keep going. The souls series filtered me hard because of that. I tried DS 1 and it was so hard and there wasn't an obvious story in the beginning so I stopped playing

when you are used to them they are not really that hard there is just a moderate barrier to entry or possibly a series of small barriers to entry that can make it hard to get into
i like open world rpgs but i do not think i have ever played a game that had a good story or at least a story that would be considered good when told through any other medium
i have played games that have good worldbuilding and writing and stuff like that but i cannot think of a single one that had a good story

That's true for the most part. There are some games that I thought had really good stories like the witcher series. The games had a good story but the netflix adaptation was just terrible compared to the actual game. I should give dark souls a try again at some point. I'm just not sure if I should play all 3 games or just skip 1 since it's kind of a little dated at this point.

also i would say at least play the first half of 1 since it is probably the best content in that series
post anor londo was kind of rushed and it shows in some places
