1. Bridget was forced to wear female clothes at very young age, which fits the stereotype that trans people are just victims of grooming.
2. He never had this dilemma about his gender in the previous games. He always corrected people that he was indeed a guy when they referred to him as girl, so this change just comes out nowhere and feels really forced.
3. He's was popular and had many fans because he is (now was) a femboy. Imagine you made a popular H-game that was known for its H-scenes and for some odd reason, you decide to remove the H-scene. You took away what made your H-game popular in the first place. That's how it feels.
Making Bridget trans was terrible decision imo. but I do like this design so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
