>>16781487There are art installations being put up all over the dorld, the issues are nov what you say. Its heritage cost. 20 years from now when the thing is cracking who pays to restore it? Who pays to powerwash the nigger runes off of it every day for years? Who pays for the facility to be manned with a building manager, who oversees it and repairs it? You have *no* way to improve how efficient an institution's real estate is, so you cannot speak on longevity. Sure we can afford to build it all out of titanium but what do you do when its hit by scrappers? when civilization has a nigger hiccup and the facility is damaged, like notre dame, what then? How will you be there in this future to ensure the traits of its design are adhered to?
The problem isnt architecture, or architects, nor as we see with vintage sites is it a materials problem, its a problem with the people. It really isnt even about the system of governance. A monarchy is better than a democracy if the people in the monarchy have integrity.
Now matter what you build, it will be compromised by someone else. Time will attest to that.
You have no methodology for surpassing this. Not even religion was able to preserve traditions, architectural or not.
Nobody has been able to envision and implement an architectural style that could be repaired and maintained forever. I believe modern architecture has come dangerously close with catalogs of building materials which are uniform, and purpose built to accomodate certain building codes. We just need to omit the demolition phase and get the occupancy rates up. We build empty buildings to swap clients around, the construction industry itself and the desperation of vontractors for employment is what causes the housing bubbles. Fact.
