>>16816512I was in the market before the ludicrous upswing. It went from finding shit at garage sales and thrifts to seeing assholes waiting in the parking lot for Goodwill's to open. Me and my girl simply went thrifting or garage sale every weekend for years, it was fun often go take pictures and shit, do random stuff while we were out just using local thrifts as reasons to go out. I would see these 'people' more and more often, eventually finding they had a local game store or sold games online. I was doing it for fun and so my kids had actual games not always online shit... I had about 10,000 estimated eBay value of games (just games not the hardware, never got an estimate on my hardware) by the time I stopped bothering to look. This was maybe 5 years ago.
I don't know who they sell too, maybe each other? I would talk to a guy that ran the old school game store for my area. He's cut me deals when I wanted a particular game to play that week and his established market was just a nomlemie to come find a game from childhood. Often it was a system for a normie, and they didn't mind those new all one consoles... So who these people sold to is beyond me, it wasn't to gamers it wasn't to locals. I went in recently to a fag game shop, I wanted a 3ds to play as mine was stolen. He tried selling me this busted ass hinge shit for 100 bucks and starts telling me 'about the market. It's like motherfucker, I see you and your employees parasitizing the local community then mark up shit 20x, don't tell me about the market
It's the most onions ass bullshit and I completely wash my hands of it. In the end because CRT tvs are so hard to come by I ended up cataloging and boxing up my collecting until I get a frame meister.
Oh and now these same types are doing the same thing with film cameras
I hate it so much, it's fun to head out and maybe find something cool, not to make a fucking reseller business out of it
