>>16822423i cant say ive paid much attention in history class
from just seeing those two things, you probably know more right now about them than i do lol, its weird to be asked anything about my own country cause of that
i feel towards them the way you would feel about your favorite sports team choking a match
they were pretty much at the top of the world at one point, ahead in a bunch of fields afaik
but they dropped the ball because of terrible leadership and focus so now we got this shithole as its remnants
i recall a teacher pointing out that placing women into high-up positions was what started its decline lol
if they didnt do that i couldve been living a better life, u know? so i cant help but not like the ottoman empire very much, to say the least
i also vividly remember another reasoning for their decline being simply not keeping up with the times
while other nations were advancing with their technology and whatnot they just became complacent
so having that initial lead amounted to nothing cause they decided to randomly stop so they got fucked over
rabbit vs tortoise basically
and thats all ive gathered from the entirety of high school history lol
i dont think we were ever told at all anything about whatever was done in ww1, which is suspicious now that i think about it. ive been told by a history teacher that half of our history is just made up, especially the stuff about ataturk
im not really interested in learning much about it either, even if its my own countrys history that never piqued interest in me, idk if thats weird. again i bet you know more than i do
but ya my overall thoughts about them is they had the right idea with the fez hats. they were cool
ataturk ditched the fez hats because when soldiers shot their guns the hats flew off and made them look dumb
i mean come on u couldnt just figure out a way to keep them in place?
they had the superior fashion sense till the very end i think that can be given credit for
