>>16870878that's life i suppose
>>16870899not only is this not new, it's one of the most basic optimizations in the game. for years now we've had people in my groups figure out how to put just 1 or 2 levels into paladin because they have a feature that lets them dispense a pool of healing 1 point at a time, so they just continually wake people up with 1 hp
unfortunately healing has a lot more problems than that anyway. the #1 deciding factor in d&d combat is "action economy" since the team that takes more actions generally wins. this sucks for healing because if you do damage to someone they'll die faster and no longer be able to take actions, but if you spend your turn healing someone who isn't dead you're not "doing" anything since they were going to take an action anyway
then the numbers don't compensate for any of this nearly well enough. on a good day a spell will barely heal for more damage than an offensive spell of the same level and combat is typically only a few rounds, so why wouldn't you accept a 5% loss in number done to kill a guy before they can do even more damage?

money i fine but as usual this isn't going to be useful
